At-Home Health Care has been receiving daily updates from the Ministry of Health of Ontario and are continuously reminding our field/office staff to practice good hand hygiene, and to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) if needed. Our staff are practicing self quarantine for those who have came from international travels and must provide us with a doctor’s certificate after 2-weeks of self-quarantine, confirming that they are fit for work. Our employees have been reminded that if they show signs of fever, cough and difficulty breathing, they are to contact their local public health authority or a health care professional and follow their advice. Staff are reminded to call AHHC On-Call Coordinator if they are showing any of the related symptoms and will be prohibited from coming to work if they are ill. We have daily communications within our organization, biweekly meetings with the LHIN/CCAC to get updates on emerging issues and changes to monitoring procedures. Since January, we have been screening all new clients and have postponed group in-service trainings as well as face-to-face meetings with our staffs to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We adhere to all measures to reduce the risk of infections and to help prevent transmission, starting with hand washing. At-Home Health Care (AHHC) is committed to the health and safety of our clients, field/office staffs, and communities. We are actively monitoring the ongoing developments with regards to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
As additional effort, AHHC is reminding all staff to consistently practice calling ahead before the start of their shift and ask if client or anyone of the client’s family is having any symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty breathing and will report to On-Call Coordinator for guidance.
